2013

lauren mesa, charissa anderson, katie drake, and jenna vanvleck

I want to thank these women, Lauren Mesa, Charissa Anderson , Katie Drake (Harper Hats) and (not shown) Jenna VanVleck for being a part of the 8th Annual Christmas Boutique. Their creativity was enjoyed by all the shoppers. Each of them gave 10% of their sales to BTG. Lauren Mesa can be found on Face Book at LaurenMesaArt.

alex and Danielle chan

Alex and Danielle Chan used to live in Chico. They now live in Maryland and their home was just three blocks from our route. What a treat to visit with them on our Bike4Water on the East Coast. Thanks for your warm hospitality.

brian and cassie faith

Brian and Cassie Faith sponsored a backyard conference and donated the proceeds to Bridging the Gap. It was a lovely evening enjoyed by many families. Thank you both for opening up your home and for your generosity. Cassie will also be helping with a Walk4Water manual that will help others organize future W4Ws.

Thank you, Buddy, for all that you do for Bridging the Gap. We all enjoyed you BBQing chicken at the 7th Annual Appreciation Dinner.

thanks lynn!

I can’t thank Lynn Armstrong enough for setting up and managing Bridging The Gap Market on Quick Books. Lynn is another example of someone using their gifting to help Bridging The Gap to grow. As a team, we can make our world a better place.

I want to thank the Boys and Girl Club under the leadership of Jessica Starkey for supporting the 5th Annual Walk4Water by having a Bake Sale to raise money for our thirsty world and walking in the Walk4Water.

holly byrom

Holly Byrom is completing a 150 hour internship with BTG. I so appreciated her willingness to learn and to do any project that was given to her. Her responsibilities were varied: speaking engagements, computer projects, Farmers Markets, an educational station at the W4W and, of course, errands. Holly graduates this spring and will be moving to Portland to attend seminary. You will be missed.

Fairview High School Students sponsored a car wash to raise funds for the W4W and walked as a team. We look forward to these students being involved next year!

girl scouts troop 242

I can’t thank these young women enough. They have been volunteering for the Walk4Water for four years. They were nine and ten years old when they began by cleaning up and now they are in charge of refreshments. They will be senior Girl Scouts and are raising money to go to Europe as a troop.

terry and jan troth

Terry and Jan Troth are new volunteers from Bidwell Presbyterian Church. They continue to surprise me with their goodness. Jan owns The Loft Hair and Skin Studio. Last week Terry did two hours of data entry and Jan created water buckets, priced merchandise, and ran errands for me. She is currently helping me look for African drummers for the W4W.

drue glatthaar

Drue Glatthaar surprised me this week by dropping by with the Valentine Gift Boxes that will be used to wrap your Valentine’s Day presents.  This is the second time that he has used his origami skills to help make shopping at the BTG Market more fun.  Drue is a sixth grade student at Wildflower.

suzanne motola

Last year Suzanne Motola was a greeter at the Walk4Water.  This year she is going to be taking more of an active role.  She will be contacting local churches to invite  them to be a part of this year’s 5th Annual Walk4Water.  She will also be helping with corporate sponsorships.  A big thank you goes out for this gift of time.

scott and lynn armstrong

Scott and Lynn Armstrong lead a small group called Get Out Of The Boat.  This group is a support group for BTG. They have helped in so many ways: creating stations for the W4W, Farmers Market, BTG Market, data entry, financial support, sewing, and, most of all, support by praying and encouragement. Your lives make a difference for good.
